Reale Beach
The wide beach is of sand mixed with medium and fine pale grey shingle. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, since the beach is used by families and nature-lovers.
Reale beach is 120 metres long and 22 wide with a rocky seabed; the reefs at the ends ensure enjoyable excursions for snorkelling enthusiasts. It faces south east and therefore offers crystal-clear water when the common Maestrale wind is bowing.
The beach offers you a small, fully-equipped beach club and a diving center.
From the left end of the beach, an easy path takes you in a few minutes to the nearby
Terranera pool, divided from a sea with unique colours and a beautiful seabed by a thin strip of sand and shingle. Along the way you will see architectural remains of the old mining operations; the pool itself was formed when the small open-cast mine from which haematite, magnesite and pyrites were extracted gradually filled with sulphur-rich water. A magical place for mineral collectors.
From the right end of the beach a scenic path through green surroundings leads (about 3 km) to Barbarossa beach and on to the centre of Porto Azzurro.
