Terranera Beach
Just a short walk away, you’ll find Terranera Beach and its lagoon, a picturesque cove famous for its shiny black sand, created by hematite and pyrite crystals.
This location is one of Elba’s most fascinating mining areas, offering both scenic and geological interest. Here, you can admire traces of the island’s historical mining activity, including old loading bridges and industrial structures once used to transport iron ore.
The emerald-green lagoon, of mining origin, was formed by the mixing of sulfurous water from an ancient mining well with seawater, creating a truly unique natural phenomenon.
